Yes yes yes I know it's been far too long.....

But hey life happens and it's difficult! So here I am back to blogging and hopefully it will be a bit more regular for a while anyway :)

So here's a run down in pictures of what's been happening the last 18 odd months, this post is for the remainder of 2013.

I came back to central Portugal from the UK to find summer well and truly underway and the beauty of nature all around...

Here is a couple of drawings I did and a tattoo Simon did on Jon...

Oh and here I am...

We went to a great free festival called 'Take it to the Bridge'...

And then the forest fires came, not just one fire but loads of fires, sometimes two or three a day! I have never known anything like it and it is really scary. Luckily there was only two that came anywhere near us really, we were ready to evacuate but didn't need to in the end...

We had visitors that were a little scary but not as scary as the fires...

By September the land was parched but soon came the first storm...

And Simon did a farewell tattoo on Fenja...

October brought fungi and bugs and a welcome release from the heat of the summer...

We went up into the beautiful Serra da Estrela mountains...

And I got a new tattoo from Simon of course :)...

The lovely town of Gouveia, the nearest town to where we live...

In October I started helping out at a dog rescue and rehoming centre called Cantinho da Lili, run by an amazing Portuguese lady with a big heart. As well as helping out a few days a week with the 70 dogs at the centre I built the rescue a website which we launched in February 2014. When these pictures were taken I was still in the early stages of building the website and collecting information, you can see it HERE I am very proud of my work on this and have raised a few hundred euros in donations from this and the FACEBOOK page I set up, please 'like' us and share our page. We also have a TWITTER page if you want to follow us. Please do have a look at the WEBSITE...

This is Martim, he now has a forever home :)...

This is Mia, a beautiful intelligent girl who still needs a forever home...

These two big boys are Brutus on the left and Clifford on the right, both lovely and both looking for forever homes...

This is Kika, she has grown up now but here she was just 3 months old, she is desperate for a forever home so far her life has been at the centre...

This is Teco, again only 3 months old in this picture. He is unusal as was born a hemaphrodite but since sterilization is classed as male. Teco needs a forever home...

Home sweet home...

Well that is a very brief run down of 2013 :) Next post will be the new year...
