Image
one of the robins that visits the warehouse was hanging around today in the trees and on the pallets where we put food out for them. i had my tripod with me so was able to get some nice clear shots as i have a bit of a shaky hand with the zoom lens on lol... this one is my favourite, i photoshopped out the bread... thanks for looking :) xoxox

the buzzard sits :)

Image
i found a buzzard sitting on a lamppost yesterday... it actually stayed there to let me take a measly 4 shots lol... im still not happy, i'd like to get one on a fence post so i can take the photo from the same level and time to run off 20+ shots but for now these aren't bad... the buzzard has enough of picture taking... thanks for looking :) xoxox

buzzards

bird photography

Image
i love taking photographs of birds, i'm still waiting to get a great shot of a buzzard or kestrel which are common around here but i haven't been lucky enough yet to be in the right place at the right time! i'm afraid i'm not hardcore enough to spend hours in a hide to get that great shot. we went for a walk down the canal to the docks recently and spotted lots of wildlife. here are some pictures i think came out really well. seagulls in flight... seagull takes off from the frozen canal... seagulls fly off... i love how i have caught different stages of wings on each bird :)... seagulls fly off from the frozen canal... seagulls on the frozen canal... seagull slips on the ice trying to get a snack... swan in flight... robin... robin against the snow, slightly edited... thanks for looking :) xoxox

snow part 1

Image
we have had an unsually large amount of snow for the city, parts of gloucestershire can often get a it of snow in the winter but we don't usually get much. we have had snowy weather all week and mostly it has been great fun! it started snowing heavily on tuesday afternoon while i was at work, i left at about 2pm to go to my son, lee's flat. normally the journey would take about half an hour but due to the weather it took 3 hours! it wasn't too bad to start with but as the road got more snow on it driving became pretty difficult with 20mph being the average speed. i was about 4 miles from cheltenham when a woman flagged me down. she had crashed her car on the ice and wanted to get to cheltenham. the weather was too bad to get a rescue vehicle out for her car so she jumped in with me and we continued. almost immediatly traffic came to a standstill and from then on we crawled at snails pace into the town. at least i had some company for some of the trecirous journey! must say
